With the recent death of Kathryn Steinle, I feel as though the topic of illegal immigration is at its peak. My prayers go out to her family, who suffered a tragic event that no one ever deserves to go through.
If none of you have heard about this incident that took place in California, here is a brief explanation:
“Kathryn Steinle, 32, of Pleasanton, California, who recently moved to San Francisco, was tragically shot and killed Wednesday night as she was walking on the pier — a popular tourist destination — with her father in an apparent random incident.”
Her murderer, Francisco Sanchez, is a California resident… but also an illegal alien.
On Friday, ICE revealed their records indicate the individual has been previously deported five times, most recently in 2009, and is from Mexico. “His criminal history includes seven prior felony convictions, four involving narcotics charges,” ICE said in a statement.
San Francisco, a “sanctuary-city”, shelters illegal immigrants. Granting them safety from Homeland Security and the possibility of being deported. Which should come to no surprise as to why Sanchez was found there. He doesn’t have a good track record of staying under the radar and avoiding trouble. He was released from a county jail back in April after being taken into custody for a drug-related charge. The city’s officials refused to turn him over to Homeland Security who would have proceeded to deport him for the 6th time. You would assume illegal immigrants would some-what follow the laws if they desperately wanted to remain in the United States. Eh, guess not.
But then he pleaded not guilty in court?
He claims to have found the fire arm in a t-shirt right beside him on a bench at Pier 14. As he proceeded to pick it up he claims it accidentally went off and the bullet that was released just happened to find its way into Kathryn’s torso. Sounds like a freak accident, right? But it doesn’t help his case that he ingested sleeping pills and therefore can’t remember everything that happened on Pier 14 that night.
Not too reliable Sanchez.
Now I’m not here to go on about this court case. The justice system will handle this case the way it should (hopefully). But it has sparked a large amount of debate nationwide about illegal immigration. While Obama and his administration stay silent on this incident and continue to support their immigration policies, we have Donald Trump. A self made billionaire and a labeled racist and Mexican-hater by the left. Trump made a comment about illegal immigration weeks ago which is slowly being validated by incidents such as these ones. Even if Sanchez accidentally shot this young woman, the problem here is that he not only has a criminal history, but was deported 5 times and still managed to make his way back into the United States. So the evidence speaks for itself, Sanchez is a felon.
Just for kicks, and to clarify, here is the famous Donald Trump statement, with some extra clarification for you, my wonderful reader, on what he meant.
“When Mexico (meaning the Mexican Government) sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you (pointing to the audience). They’re not sending you (pointing again). They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people! But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting. And it only makes common sense. They’re sending us not the right people. It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America, and it’s coming probably from the Middle East. But we don’t know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening. And it’s got to stop and it’s got to stop fast.”
What can be simpler or more accurately stated? The Mexican Government is forcing their most unwanted people into the United States. They are, in many cases, criminals, drug dealers, rapists, etc. This was evident just this week when, as an example, a young woman in San Francisco was viciously killed by a 5 time deported Mexican with a long criminal record, who was forced back into the United States because they didn’t want him in Mexico. This is merely one of thousands of similar incidents throughout the United States.
In other words, the worst elements in Mexico are being pushed into the United States by the Mexican government. The largest suppliers of heroin, cocaine and other illicit drugs are Mexican cartels that arrange to have Mexican immigrants trying to cross the borders and smuggle in the drugs. The Border Patrol knows this… On the other hand, many fabulous people come in from Mexico and our country is better for it. But these people are here legally, and are severely hurt by those coming in illegally. I am proud to say that I know many hard working Mexicans—many of them are working for and with me…and, just like our country, my organization is better for it.
Well said, Trump.
But you’ve got people working, which supports our economy. Some of them are genuinely good people. So what’s really the issue?
The unemployment rate, as of this year, is at a low 5.3%. Unfortunately, The Obama Administration’s statistics don’t include those who have completely dropped out of the work force and are solely depending on welfare for support (Thank you Obama for encouraging people to depend only on welfare! You are so wonderful!).
Today, 6.9 million fewer Americans are working or looking for work. This drop accounts for virtually the entire reduction of the unemployment rate since 2009 because those not looking for work do not count as unemployed.
The employment statistics are entirely different discussions I can leave for a different day, my point is that we still have a large amount of unemployed American citizens of all colors, shapes and sizes (what have you). There is an estimated 8 million illegal aliens in the work force. Those are jobs being taken away from our legal citizens.
Now, if you’re a liberal reading this, before your head explodes with rage for either my use of words or your interpretation of my realistically nonexistent racism, I’ve heard one of your arguments on this specific statement before.
“The jobs that ‘undocumented workers’ have are jobs that our people wouldn’t ever take because they’re dangerous, too difficult etc.””
Overall, not jobs our people would want. In my defense, I don’t think liberals or conservatives should speak for what unemployed Americans would do for money. I know what I would do if I was a 30 year old unemployed woman living in a shelter with 3 mouths to feed. But that’s me. My point is that there are about 8 million jobs that our people don’t have the opportunity to get, or even be exposed to, because illegal immigrants block their passage way. Their option to A) be unemployed and potentially rely on welfare or B) have a job even though its a difficult one and be able to support yourself and/or your family, is already decided by these people. Our citizens don’t have the option to circle B because someone else has already snatched the pencil right out of their hand.
From Ann Coulter herself “We have our own poor people to take care of.”
Now, as for the criminal statistics. Under the Obama Administration, in 2013 ICE released 36,007 illegal felons who were awaiting deportation from the United States. And for some of those released, they were facing multiple criminal charges. To be more specific: of the total number of individuals, there was a total of 88,000 convictions. Including:
- 193 homicide convictions (including one willful killing of a public official with gun)
- 426 sexual assault convictions
- 303 kidnapping convictions
- 1,075 aggravated assault convictions
- 1,160 stolen vehicle convictions
- 9,187 dangerous drug convictions
- 16,070 drunk or drugged driving convictions
- 303 flight escape convictions
As of March of this year, ICE released an additional 30,588 illegal aliens with a criminal record, back into our country. *Insert shocked face here*
First question that comes to mind, what in the world is Obama doing? Does he not understand we still have crime in America and the last thing our country needs is more felons running loose on American soil? Especially when they’re not even legal citizens so these are crimes that can be very easily avoided and prevented?
Sadly, I’m not a mind reader. But I would really love to know the truth of what his real intention is here.
According to the 2013 Yearbook of Immigration Statistics, 198,394 illegal aliens (from all over the world, not just Mexico) were deported due to criminal status. The total of those removed even without a criminal status in 2013… 438,421. Now is when you say “holy cr** that’s a lot of people!” because believe it or not, it really is. These are just those that are deported, unfortunately Homeland Security can’t get a hold of every illegal immigrant residing in our Nation. And we also can’t tell you how many have potentially returned to America after being deported.
So coming away from that you can only imagine the large percentage these people can account for in our estimated 319 billion population count from 2014.
Technically speaking, every individual that just decides to hop the border without any documents or permission from our country, is a criminal from the get go. But when the left uses the word criminal, they tend to mean those selling drugs, raping people, murdering others, etc,. Breaking the law makes you a criminal. Illegal immigrants break the law by illegally entering this country. Period. End of story.
If you’re an illegal alien in Mexico, they will deport you immediately, no ifs ands or buts. They don’t want you there if you’re not a citizen. So if Mexico can enforce their own laws, what prevents us from doing so?
I understand the process of legally coming into America is a difficult, tedious and long. My grandparents themselves are immigrants. But here is what our country needs to do, which simply has not been done. It is way too easy to get into America and build a life for yourself. People can’t just come and go as they please, The United States is not your late night booty-call. Our founding fathers and us American’s (who actually like America and are proud to be American’s) work too hard for it to just be stomped on and our benefits taken advantage of. What’s the point of filling out all the paperwork when you can just step right in?
Our nation sends the wrong message to foreigners by allowing illegal immigration to continue. We need to close the boarders so people that are deported once (or multiple times), or want to make their way into this country, can’t just step over a line and consider themselves American citizens. Don’t get me wrong, our immigration system desperately needs improvements and I support legal immigration. Without it we wouldn’t be the wonderful diverse country we are and always have been. But we can’t fix that until we deal with the real issue.
Close the boarder, get the illegal aliens out, and put in place a better more productive immigration system so that those with good intentions, determination to work hard and be true Americans can come and legally live in this country! There has been talk of a pathway to citizenship… personally I don’t know what to think/feel about it. But you can decide for yourself.
Just as two extra fun fact, Mexico’s biggest drug lord “El Chapo” has escaped from prison. Let the games begin!
